Dwight Maness Memorial Scholarship
Candidates should be pursuing an AAS in Criminal Justice degree which helps students develop the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary for employment and advancement as law enforcement officers. The degree also serves as a foundation for associated professions that require advanced study, such as probation officers, parole officers, corrections and social services.
- 12+ credit hour enrollment;
- 2.5 GPA;
- Resident of McHenry County;
- Degree pursuing must include AAS Criminal Justice.
Deputy Dwight Maness, a deputy of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and former Army Ranger was ambushed and shot several times in Holiday Hills in 2014, after responding to a domestic situation. He never fully recovered from his wounds and died a year later.
