Virginia Hinner GED Next Step Scholarship

Criteria:

• GED certificate or in process of a GED.
  Virginia was closely involved with McHenry County College Since 1983. While attending, she served as student trustee, and also on the student advisory committee of the Illinois Community College Board. Throughout the years, she was appointed to numerous college committees, including serving as President of the MCC Foundation Board. In addition to planning countless fundraising events, she worked weekly as a volunteer math tutor to older students preparing to earn their GED. The Illinois Community College Trustees Association awarded her the 2003 Distinguished Alumnus Award for being an integral part of MCC’s growth and positive impact on the community. In 2004, she was selected for MCC’s Excellence in Community Service Award, which recognizes graduates for their accomplishments.
