The Amanda Williams Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of former MCC student and MCC Women’s Volleyball player Amanda Williams, who tragically lost her life in the winter of 2015. Amanda was born in Centralia, IL and graduated Belvidere North High School in 2014. She was a freshman at McHenry County College and studying on a volleyball scholarship that she had received for her academic and athletic achievements. Amanda had a wonderful sense of humor, was always smiling, and making everyone around her smile. She loved spending time with her family and she was very passionate about helping and working with children. All of her coaches and teammates considered Amanda a great friend, perfect teammate and mentor to all that had the privilege of playing volleyball with her. The Amanda Williams Memorial Scholarship will provide funding for tuition, books and fees to a member of the MCC Women’s Volleyball team who maintains a 2.5 GPA, is enrolled as a full time student and provides a written essay explaining their passion for playing sports and their future goals.
